Valldemossa

Valldemossa

Valldemossa (in Mallorquin) or Valldemosa (in Spanish) is a village and municipality on the island of Mallorca. By car, it’s only a 20 minute drive from Palma or an hour by public transport. It’s very scenic, with quiet, cobble-stone streets, and flower filled lanes with antique lanterns hanging above the homes. The place is famous for two things: George Sand and Frederic Chopin spent a winter of 1838-1839 here, and Santa Catalina Tomas was born and lived here in the 16th century.
